Frequently Asked Questions |
|
THIS ONE FIRST Q. 'How do I program unit?' A. Take a look at the .pdf instruction manual first. It will help to familiarise yourself with the layout and general operation so guidance will be easier should you still need to call. Q. 'How can I reset unit?' A. With AKO products, look for 'return to initial parameters' in menu. With Pola HP modules, with power switched off, press and hold the 'Set' ket and while keeping it held in, put power back on. Keep holding in 'Set' key and see 'boot' 'Pola' 'Pass' and then release. Unit is now reset. Q. 'HP11--I have power on unit, it has switched on but there isn't power getting to boiler/pump/heater?' A. Check that there is power connected to terminal 4 ('Common' supply terminal of output relay) If there isn't power going into common, you won't get power out of the switched live) Q. 'AKO isn't switching when it should' A. If application is heating, unit is probably still set to factory default of cooling. Go into menu and in PO change 'Type of operation' from cooling to heating. Q. 'AKO is switching off periodically when it should be on' A. If application is cooling, unit is probably still set to factory default - off-cycle defrost where the unit will switch off output periodically to allow unit to defrost. If this isn't wanted, go to menu and change DO (defrost frequency) to 0. Q. 'AKO unit shows 'PA' when I try to access program' A. Unit has password protection enabled and you need to put in password number between 0 and 99 to release lock. If you don't know number, try 1 or 99. If that isn't successful and you can't guess number, you will have to return it to us to reset it. There may be a charge to do this. Q. 'AKO/POLA Can I extend the cable length?' A. Yes, use 2 core copper wire of about 0.75mm squared cross sectional area. You should not need to recalibrate. Avoid cable runs in same conduit/truncking as mains cable or you may effect sensor reading. As a rule of thumb, try to keep them at least 10/12" appart. Q. 'Temperature reading is oscillating rapidly up and down' A. The sensor cable is probably being effected by being to close to a mains cable. Avoid cable runs in same conduit/truncking as mains cable or you may effect sensor reading. As a rule of thumb, try to keep them at least 10/12" appart. Q. 'Temperature doesn't read what is expected' A. Make sure sensor tip is precisely where you want temperature measured. Remember 'temperature gradients' (Temperature will be hottest at heater surface and coldest at extreme locations and so depending on where the sensor tip is placed between the 2 the reading will vary) Same applies for vertical applications--heat rises. |
